Windows Data Recovery Software recovers and restores lost, deleted, missing and unavailable data due to following reasons:

(a)Deleted Files/Folders

The windows vista recovery software provides deleted files recovery from computer system. Similarly recover deleted Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint data records, Photographs, database and all office files and folders on major operating system including Windows 98/2000/XP/2003/NT and Windows Vista.

When any file is deleted from computer system, the content of the file does not get destroyed immediately. The file link is broken from file record information (Where file information is stored) but file still exists in computer’s hard disk drive and thus data recovery software can be effectively utilized to recover lost data files and folders back.

When file is being deleted, file entry will not be displayed in “My Computer” or command line DIR command etc.

Whenever any file is deleted, windows mark the hard disk drive space as being available to be used by another program or application. If the user’s data files gets lost or accidently deleted, the user should avoid using the system utility called “defragmentation”. Defragmentation makes the unused space to be used infrequently and override the older data whose link has been broken or does not exist.

(b)Malicious Formats

Format prepares a hard disk drive or storage medium for reading and writing. When hard disk drive is formatted, the operating system erases and removes all stored information from disk drive. The formatting also detect if all the sectors are reliable or not to mark bad sector and create internal address tables that is used to locate information at later stage.

The disk drive needs to be formatted for several reasons including:

  • If operating system get corrupted
  • To remove virus/worm infected drive
  • System performance dumps or degraded
  • Accidental disk format by user

Formatting involves two different process called High level formatting and Low level formatting. High level formatting set up an empty file system on the disk and installs a boot sector and can be performed using “Quick Format” option. Low-level formatting is usually used by hard disk drive which sets certain properties of the disk (such as the interleave factor) also determines what type of disk controller can access the disk (RLL or MFM).

Almost all hard disk drives that the user purchases already have low-level format. It is not necessary, therefore, to perform a low-level format unless user want to change the interleave factor or make the disk accessible by a different type of disk controller. Performing a low-level format erases all data on the disk.

Format is a MS DOS command that can be used to remove information from computer’s disk, hard disk etc. Format is an external command that is found in many Windows OS.

The windows vista data recovery/repair software can be effectively used to recover and restore windows files, folders and other data after formatting is done by any way.

(c)Emptied Recycle Bin

Recycle bin contains all the deleted files whether files and folders has been deleted intentionally or unintentionally.

Any file type can be moved to the Recycle Bin in a number of ways:

  • By right-clicking on file and selecting delete from menu
  • Selecting the file and pressing delete key
  • Selecting delete from the side menu in Windows operating system (OS)
  • Selecting the file and choosing delete from File menu in Windows OS
  • By dragging and dropping a file into the Recycle Bin icon

Note: Data files and folders deleted using SHIFT+DELETE key is no more available in Recycle Bin, the command permanently removes the data.

Recycle Bin lists all deleted files, folders and other data with date, time and path. Recycle Bin lets the user view the files, folders, exe and shortcuts in Windows explorer form. Deleted files in Recycle Bin can be removed restoring them by clicking on restore link or by deleting them permanently.

Once the Recycle Bin has been emptied, user cannot restore the data back. Windows data recovery software lets user to easily recover and restore all deleted files from Recycle bin or using SHIFT+DELETE key.

(d)Power Surges

Almost all the user working on computer system comes around the problem of loosing working files and data due to power failure or power surge. The user can lost the complete file if it has not been saved to the specified location in computer’s hard disk drives whether the working file is very critical. User will not able to get the data back because when file is in working stage, the file contents gets stored in primary memory that is volatile in nature and lose all content of file once the power is down or system is shutdown.

The reason for power failure can be defect in power station, damage to power line or other part of distribution system, short circuit or overloading of electricity mains.

Data recovery can be effectively used to repair partition and restore all the lost files easily to save precious data files to be written or regain again.
